Faced with students' mental health deterioration during the CoVid-19 crisis, I decided to realize the social entrepreneurship project e-Well. In parallel to my studies, I founded the association e-Wellness Etudiants, of which I was president for two years. I participated in competitions to raise funds, look for partners and psychologists, and supervised the development of the application.
What is e-Well?
The e-Well project has been lunch following the alarming observation of students' mental health deterioration since the beginning of the health crisis. The project consists in developing a psychological help service through a mobile application.
Students undergoing psychological follow-up by a professional can exchange for several months with students in master psychology. The objective is to provide the former with daily moral support and the latter with a formative experience as close as possible to the patient's everyday life.
Approach
One peer assistant is in contact with one peer helper who will accompany him/her during his/her e-Well journey. The coaching encompasses five themes:
- Destigmatization of mental disorders,
- Preparation for consultations with a mental health professional,
- Lifestyle (sports, diet, sleep patterns...),
- Improving compliance (= degree of respect of the patient for the medication prescribed by his doctor/psychiatrist),
- Accompaniment towards acceptance, stabilization, and a lifestyle more aligned with one's values.
